Paul King is running for Bloomington City Council At-Large

Bloomington, MN, June 30, 2021 - Paul King, lifelong resident and business owner, active in the community for over 40 years announces he is running for City Council At-Large in the November 2nd Bloomington Municipal Elections.

Paul wants to return common sense management to Bloomington City Government on behalf of all residents. He wants to ensure all residents’ views are heard and not ignored.

Paul is known as the “Popcorn Guy”. Paul’s donations of popcorn machines and supplies have raised approximately $1.5 million dollars for Bloomington clubs, church activities and organizations over the past 40 years. Paul has worked to raise money for the American Cancer Society, MDA and currently donates his time and support to the Courage Kenny Golf League.

Paul’s leadership has been multi-faceted. He was co-chair on the Bloomington Renovation Renaissance $107 million dollar bond referendum that upgraded Bloomington Public School facilities while also serving on the design committee for the Kennedy & Jefferson School Activity Centers.

Over the years, Paul has also spent considerable time with Bloomington youth as a coach and mentor in BAA Athletics, Traveling Baseball and Basketball. Paul also served as President of Boys Traveling Basketball, Jefferson Backcourt Club and Jefferson Football Boosters.

In the business community, Paul has been a member and past president of the Bloomington Jaycees and was active in the Bloomington Chamber of Commerce. He has been a Board Member and President of the Minneapolis Independent Insurance Agents and a board member of the Minnesota Independent Insurance Agents Association.

Paul has already invested his leadership in the community and will continue to work hard for all residents as a Bloomington City Council At-Large member.
